hp color inkjet cp1160 series printer software version 4.3 for Windows 2000 and Windows XP- ADD PRINTER system.
Description:
For Windows 2000 and Windows XP
USB (Plug & Play) install :
- Before you download the driver from the web, create a new directory on your hard drive, c:temp1.
- Download the driver to the newly created c:temp1 folder.
- Open the c:temp1 folder and double-click the "exe" file you just downloaded. This will extract the files and expand showing a directory named "cp1160".
- Connect the interface cable from your hp cp1160 printer to your computer.
- A "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box will appear.
- Click next.
- Select "Search for a suitable driver for my device" and click next.
- Select "Specify a location" and click next.
- Click Browse…
- Go to the c:temp1cp1160Win2k_xp folder and click OK.
- Select the HPF1160K.INF and click open.
- Click OK, and then click next.
- Windows will now install the driver files.
- In the "Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, click Finish.
Parallel (Add Printer) install:
NOTE: Connect parallel cable from your hp cp1160 printer to your computer
- Before you download the driver from the web, create a new directory on your hard drive, c:temp1.
- Download the driver to the newly created c:temp1 folder.
- Open the c:temp1 folder and double-click the "exe" file you just downloaded. This will extract the files and expand showing a directory named "cp1160".
- Click on Start->Settings->Printers. Double-click on Add Printer.
- Click next
- Select local printer and click next.
- Choose Printer Port (typically LPTx for), and click next.
- Click Have Disk, then Browse…
- Go to the c:temp1cp1160Win2k_xp folder and then click OK.
- Select the HPF1160K.INF, click open and then click OK.
- Select hp cp1160, and then click next.
- Follow the instructions from the dialog screens. Choose Replace driver if a dialog asks you. Click finish.
- Windows will now install the driver files.
-NETWORK CONNECTION.
Please note that the instructions below are for users that will be using a NETWORK connection from the computer to the printer.
Please note that with this driver version:
- There is no installer shell.
- There is no bi-directional communication so users will not see status messages.
- Printer driver icon shortcuts are not installed on the desktop.
Please refer to the CD that came with your hp cp1160 printer for documentation, registration, and additional software.
To Install:
- Before you download the driver from the web, create the directory on your hard drive: c:temp1.
- Download the driver exe to c:temp1.
- Using Windows Explorer (Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories & Click on Windows Explorer). Double click to the c:temp1 directory.
- Double-click on the .exe you downloaded. It will expand showing a directory named "cp1160"
- Insert the CD that came with your hp internal jetdirect print server module.
- When the Installer window appears, click Install.
- Click next in the Welcome window.
- Select 'Auto-configure network settings for me' then click next.
- The installer will search for the printers available on your network. When it is finished searching,
- Select your hp cp1160 printer, and click next.
- Select 'Install a driver from a printer installation disk or driver file' then click next.
- Go to the c:temp1 directory & double click on the 'cp1160Win2k_xp' folder.
- Select the HPF1160K.INF file and click open.
- When the 'Install Driver from Disk' window appears make sure 'hp cp1160' is highlighted, then click next.
- In the 'Printer Name' window, you may change the name of your printer. If you want to change it, type in the new name. Click next.
- Select 'not shared' or 'shared as:' in the 'Printer Sharing' window, then click next.
- Click Finish.
To Uninstall:
This driver does not come with a Hewlett-Packard built-in uninstaller.
There are two ways to uninstall the driver:
- Go to the control panel, printers folder, highlight the printer and select file, delete.
- Run the HP uninstaller from the driver media that came with your printer. The media can be the CD,floppy diskettes, or the downloadable "SETUP.EXE" driver.
